To the product: CE

The network's SPEEDY needle roller is one of the few products in this market segment to have received a medical CE. We warn against dubious suppliers who offer their products cheaply via internet platforms (e.g. Amazon, Alibaba). These are often of poor quality and frequently non-sterile.

The new product was developed and produced for the network by a renowned Korean manufacturer with years of experience in scooter production and is CE certified.

About the product: Advantages

We are pleased to present the fastest Micro Needling Roller.
In contrast to rollers that attach the needles to a roller, the SPEEDY has hardened stainless steel disks from which the needles are laser-cut in various lengths.
This method has two decisive advantages for the medical user:
– Conventional rollers can only be rolled straight. In contrast, the SPEEDY can negotiate bends, which is more suited to the human anatomy.
– The other advantage concerns the number of needles. This is because a larger number of needles reduces the needling process in terms of time. Hence the chosen name SPEEDY.

Needle lengths

The SPEEDY is available in needle lengths of 0.5 mm, 1.0 mm, 1.5 mm and 2.0 mm. It is therefore fully functional for important medical indications such as acne scars. The roller has 450 needles for the 0.5 and 1.0 mm lengths and 405 needles for the 1.5 and 2.0 mm lengths. This large number reduces the treatment time by more than half, which benefits the patients treated and the doctors.

Ergonomics

The Speedy has an ergonomic handle and can therefore be guided better and with less fatigue. The needle discs are cut with high-performance lasers. This makes them burr-free and particularly sharp.

Needling: General

Outside of aesthetic indications, medical needling with special rollers (3 mm) under general anesthesia has gained worldwide recognition as an alternative to the well-known treatment methods in the treatment of burn scars through the studies and publications of network member Prof. Aust and colleagues. The results presented also have an impact on aesthetics. Many colleagues are now more than convinced of the effectiveness of percutaneous collagen induction.

With every aesthetic treatment, the results, downtime, pain and costs of the treatment should be in balance. Many appliance manufacturers have now also pounced on this aesthetic segment. For users who perform treatments more frequently, we also offer the Digital POP SE automatic MicroNeedling device. (https://www.network-globalhealth.com/produkt/dp-se-n/)

For needling: Requirements for rollers

Within NETZWERK-Globalhealth, an internal working group therefore discussed whether there was room for improvement in the original roller method and whether it still had weaknesses. After discussing our experiences in detail, we have identified the following problems:

The scooters sold in Europe could only be used straight. However, as the body and the face are round, it was difficult to roll them in line with the structures.
The price of the roller as a single-use product was so high that the cost-benefit ratio was only accepted by patients to a limited extent. The treatment time required by the practitioner distorted this dimension even further, so that almost only severely suffering patients decided to undergo treatment, although the procedure could actually have been used for many other indications.
Many scooters, which are still sold at dumping prices in Europe today, have no CE certification whatsoever, which leads to major liability problems for doctors treating patients in the event of complications.

How the network works

Needling is a very good example of how our network of doctors works: The network doctors instructed their back office to carry out research into alternative rollers in order to solve the problems raised. The highest priority was, of course, European certification, which makes legal use possible in the first place. We have tested many different models and found them to be unsuitable. Only after intensive testing were we able to accept a manufacturer. The Korean manufacturer of the Speedy fulfilled all of our requirements in an exemplary manner.

– The roll has a density of 405 (1.5 and 2 mm needle length) to 450 (0.5 and 1 mm needle length) needles instead of the usual 100-120 needles. By reducing the rolling process, the treatment time can be shortened. This spares the patient additional pain sensations and greatly shortens the treatment time.
– The price is significantly lower than that of other CE-certified scooters.
– Thanks to the different needle lengths (0.5-2.0 mm), it can be used for a wide range of aesthetic indications. It cannot be used for medical needling of burn scars etc., which is 3 mm deep.

In our opinion, all the prerequisites for a broader application in aesthetic medicine are therefore in place. Since its inception, the NETZWERK has always endeavored to achieve comprehensible standards that make it possible to compare the results. We developed the indications, the treatment intervals, the framework conditions and the didactic preparation for further training.
This takes place with the presentation of 2 further regenerative skin improvement therapies, namely platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and mesotherapy.

Indications Needling

The summary of individual results showed that there are 4 main indications that can only be treated better or equally successfully by a few other methods:
1. Acne scars show a great effect. In our opinion, the needling method is therefore the method of choice for this indication. Other, shallow scars can also be treated.
2. Striae (stretch marks) have always caused problems for the treating physician because no method has delivered convincing results. We have noticed an improvement in stretch marks, but striae cannot be completely reduced.
3. Overall, smaller skin wrinkles are also tightened. Where mesotherapy alone no longer helps to improve the skin surface, needling can be used – also in combination with rolling in preparations and various "mixtures", for example the NWM MesoLift developed by us.
4. Needling also extends our combination therapy for the treatment of cellulite, which consists of injection lipolysis at two different depths and superficial mesotherapy. The smoothing of the top layer of skin can be further enhanced by using the needle roller where necessary.

Holistic therapy

In our experience, it is also important that the right conditions are maintained to ensure the necessary patient acceptance: Patients should always be prepared with a highly effective anesthetic cream, e.g. Anesthesis L (Mohren Apotheke zu Sankt Lorenz, Nuremberg). The use of a cooling device is recommended after and during the treatment. Our members use the sterile Skin Attitude mask (https://www.network-globalhealth.com/produkt/maske-box/) for aftercare. To reduce the systemic effects of the inflammatory reaction, a bromelain preparation such as Degozym (https://www.network-globalhealth.com/produkt/deg-neu/) is recommended.

FAQs

Who is authorized to perform needling?

Needling may only be carried out by doctors and alternative practitioners*. Under the supervision of a doctor, treatment with a MicroNeedling device (e.g. Digital POP SE) may also be delegated to trained assistants.

* Die von vielen Behandlern eingesetzte Anesthesis L Creme zur oberflächlichen Betäubung des Behandlungsareals ist verschreibungspflichtig und kann nur von Ärzten bezogen werden.

How often do you have to treat?

Usually 4 treatments are necessary (e.g. acne scars, wrinkles).

How much does a treatment cost?

You can't say that here. Each doctor can set the price themselves. Usually between 200 and 300 euros per treatment.

How does the needling work?

When the therapy was initially introduced, people were very skeptical. However, Prof. Aust's studies have shown that so-called percutaneous collagen induction takes place in the skin. The skin is subjected to many tiny injuries. This stimulates it to produce collagen. New blood vessels are also formed, which improve blood circulation. Needling is one of the regenerative skin improvement therapies alongside mesotherapy and PRP. Regenerative means that the skin is not destroyed and then rebuilt, as is the case with lasers, radio frequency or HIFU ultrasound, for example.

Does it hurt?

In general, the treatment area is well prepared by applying a very effective surface anaesthetic. Participants in the network courses report that they have felt virtually no pain. However, the micro injuries cause the face to bleed. However, the bleeding is stopped immediately and can be calmed even better with the sterile Skin Attitude mask.
