Extended Medicine Distance Learning Academy – Practice competence

Practice competence

Overview of the department

With this new section, we offer interested parties access to important information on how to optimally manage a practice with a special focus on aesthetics. This information “all about the practice” via our e-learning tools will help to build a practice or improve the structures of an existing practice. The plan is to highlight all areas related to the practice as a business, such as management, operations, team building, patient communication, as well as photo documentation, billing, legal issues, and marketing.

Communication training for health professionals

Video training on communication for health professionals

 Lecturer: Dipl.-Päd., Psych. Volker Schrader
Here a short introduction:

There is often a misunderstanding that communication is understood to be outside of treatment. However, this is not the case; rather, communication is a central component of any treatment and of medical practice as a whole. Based on this, the lecturer describes all levels or channels of communication, the media through which communication can take place, communication theories, all contacts for a communication – also going beyond patient communication – such as team, companies, authorities etc., as well as the possibilities to influence one’s own environment communicatively.

In a second part, practical guidance for improving one’s own communication culture is developed on the basis of neurolinguistic programming (NLP). Special attention will be paid to the topic of selling medical services.

The third part deals with some case studies.

Photo documentation in aesthetic medicine

Photo documentation in aesthetic medicine

Video training for photo documentation in aesthetics
Speaker: ERNST (Dirk Brandl – Diploma photo engineer)

Sprecher des NETWORK-Globalhealth

Here a short introduction:

In most practices, there is a risk of incorrect or insufficient image documentation of the services provided. The reasons for this neglect are manifold: incorrect selection of the room, several assistants carrying out the documentation, ignorance of the conditions of good documentation as well as ignorance of the technical requirements.

Ernst, alter ego of photo engineer and network speaker Dirk Brandl, assistant in an aesthetic practice, tells in an amusing way how he acquired the standards and is able to present all important aspects that lead to the fact that the viewer of before and after pictures can concentrate exclusively on the result of treatments. The standards he refers to are the basis of the general rules for taking documentation photos in aesthetic medicine that are valid today.

This video workshop teaches both physicians and assistants all the important
basics in an easily reproducible manner. Special emphasis is placed on the implementation in one’s own practice, which should do without its own space and large technical equipment.
