We encounter the term “network” at many levels of social life and scientific research – whether in medicine, for example in bacteriology, neurology or genetics, or in social interaction. Behind this is a central insight: no element exists on its own. Everything is connected – from the universe to the smallest particles.

Our understanding of networks – more than just a term

We deliberately chose the term because it reflects our self-image: We want to set ourselves clearly apart from traditional medical societies. Instead of hierarchical structures, we focus on exchange at eye level. For us, a network is a living organism – supported by the interplay of professional expertise and human interaction.

Humans are social beings

The Austrian philosopher Paul Watzlawick said: “You cannot not communicate.” Communication is a basic need – and at the same time a central force that shapes the way we live together. Everyone influences their social environment and is shaped by it at the same time. That is why we attach great importance to interpersonal dialog, mutual inspiration and active cooperation.

Medicine in a social context

Our work does not end with the mere transfer of knowledge. We always consider medical action in a social context. That is why we always combine the training of specialist skills with the training of communicative and social skills. After all, good treatment begins with a genuine understanding of people – both for patients and colleagues.
